There are 3 possible options when installing Design Manager (123GO):

1.       Install Design Manager (123GO) but turn it off under Tools, Add-Ins:

  • Logopress will not appear in the SOLIDWORKS menus but SOLIDWORKS can now rebuild Logopress features*.

2.       Install Design Manager (123GO) and allow the add-in to be turned on:

  • Besides allowing Logopress features to be recognized and rebuilt as listed above under point 1, Logopress appears as a SOLIDWORKS pull down menu item, and appears as a command manager tab.
  • Instantly hide or show any combination of the upper, middle and lower die assemblies, and the strip assembly, with a single mouse click by using the Logopress Filters.
  • Change a semi-transparent model into a fully opaque/solid model in a matter of seconds to simplify viewing by using the Logopress Assembly Color/Transparency command.
  • Access the Logopress Normal to without zooming out command.
  • The Logopress Update the stations of the Annex part used in the strip command is available. This command is required to quickly and easily make development and other strip related changes to Logopress die designs that were created using recommended Logopress methodology. For detailed instructions, read the most important post in our Knowledge Base titled Updating or changing the part after development or other part change.

3.       Install Design Manager (123GO) and allow the add-in to be turned on and register and request a FREE license:

  • As a bonus, in addition to its design management functions listed above under points 1 and 2, Design Manager (123GO) includes a subset of the intelligent Standard Catalog Component Library found within the Logopress die design software package. It includes the seven most basic mechanical fasteners as well as washers and nuts. Just like the intelligent Standard Catalog Component Library found within the Logopress die design software, it provides automatic creation of all holes, automatic patterning and automatic creation & mating of standard catalog components. (For simplicity reasons and robust reasons, it does not use SOLIDWORKS Toolbox at all, but it does use Hole Wizard holes.) Editing fasteners/holes is equally as easy and as automated as inserting them is.
  • Run the simulation of the die operating as if it were in the press (for doing a design review for example) using the Logopress DIE DEBUGGER™ command. (The die designer would need to have already set up and run the DIE DEBUGGER™ command that is included in Logopress die design software).

*Below is the list of the eight Logopress features that SOLIDWORKS cannot rebuild if Design Manager (123GO) (or another Logopress product) is not installed on that computer:

NOTE: These features are doing things that SOLIDWORKS is unable do.

  1. The Logopress Station Mark and the body files that are created when a Station Mark is inserted
  2. The Logopress Import feature in the Annex part
  3. The Logopress Unbending feature
  4. The Logopress Overbending feature
  5. The Logopress Bending/Fold feature
  6. The Logopress Offset Faces feature
  7. The Logopress Extend Faces feature
  8. The Logopress Cut Return feature
